North Myrtle

Last weekend, some friends of ours got to enjoy their beach house as a couple while we kept their kids. This weekend, it was our turn to escape to Cherry Grove. Stunning.

Kid Swap

When you have seven extra kids under your roof for the weekend, and another neighbor's kid asks if he can spend the day at the house... you say yes... because at some point (10 kids... versus 11)... it just really doesn't matter.

Cedar Falls Park

On a previous visit to the grandparents, the kids and Venesa came across a hidden gem not even a dozen miles from my parents' house: Cedar Falls Park. I wasn't there for the first go round, but I was excited to tag along for the followup trip. We haven't made it the priority that we'd like it to be, but traversing the trails was a nice reminder that we're a woodsy family and should probably get back to camping more often.

Anyway, the trip was simple but effective. Revitalizing is the word that comes to mind.

Breathe easy and enjoy the calm.

Homer

Homer. Shepard mix. Tan and White. About 10 months old and 35 pounds. But the most important distinction that Homer owns is that he is the only foster dog (so far) that we had to send back. Homer was a handful. Crazy, jumpy little dog. Hyper to the tenth degree. Too much for our three, but I'm sure there's an awesome home for him out there somewhere. Just not this one. Not even for just a couple weeks. So long, Homer. It's been real.
