Impromptu Celebration
We celebrated Jasmine's birthday a few days early as a family, but ended up at a friend's house for a casual get-together on her actual birthday. With a cookie and a candle on hand, our gracious host pounced on the opportunity for a happy birthday chorale. It was cute... until it came time to figure out how 10 kids were gonna split one cookie. Jasmine's solution: we're not.

Build and Grow
I picked up a Build and Grow kit from Lowe's as an opportunity for Jasmine and I to bond over a hammer and some nails. Honestly, I didn't even realize that I had stumbled into some extra bonus points by picking a kit that had a dog profile. And once Jasmine tied a leash to the car... err... I mean, to the dog... and proceeded to not just carry it around the house for days... but to also feed it and leave a water bowl out for her fictitious dog to sip from... I also had to accept another cold hard fact: It's finally time for her to have a dog of her own again... Either that, or counseling.

Vet Anatomy Course
So, um, dad... I'm gonna hold it together right now, because that's what I do... but you can go ahead and scratch veterinarian off the occupation list. Thanks.

Water Grow Blossom
And so it begins.
It used to be nice when we could just say, okay everyone... you're all doing soccer. Or basketball. Or BAM camp. But as our three gems get older, we're reluctantly learning to let them grow their separate ways. Even when it means traveling three different directions on four different days, in two separate cars. smh. And like I said... this (theatre camp in Florence) is most certainly just the beginning. Welcome to parenting, phase 3.
