ERT16 Day 03

Jerome slipped out around 7:30am and revisited the two hikes we did yesterday in order to catch the falls in the morning light. He went off with his tripod and camera and came back a happy camper! After breakfast, we went into GSMNP again and all of the J's went horseback riding while Naomi and I watched a movie (Chasing 3000) in the van. Actually, Naomi did get to ride a horse around the stables a few times (she was too young for the 45 minute trek). She loved it!

The stables were on the northern edge of the park, and we were camping about 45 miles away on the south side (Deep Creek area), so it was a bit of a drive to get there and back (about two hours each way).  Because of that, we decided to make a day of it and stop at lots of lookouts to check out the breathtaking views. Absolutely amazing. This is God's hard work! We were taking it all in.  The kids were not as impressed as we were, but they were at least good sports about it.  On the way home, we also spotted about a dozen 1-year-old elk on the side of the road and got to get pretty up close and personal. One more thing worth mentioning: After ten years of chronic pain, I have had zero hip pain since we've been traveling! Praise the Lord!
