Yellow Belts

Don't laugh at the big kid on the left in the back row. He's got a growth disorder. And after watching him do karate for a few minutes, I'm thinking he may have a learning disorder, too.

So... this somehow flew under the blog radar until now, but at some point, I thought it would be cool to take karate with the kids. But I didn't initially have it in mind to actually take it with the kids... as in, in the kid's class. But you know what... I think it worked for us. I don't know if they'd admit it out loud, but I'm willing to bet a few bucks that it was (secretly) cool to have the only dad in the class. And for giving them that memory, I'll store this one in the thank me later category.

As for today's ceremony, congrats to all three of our awesome karate kids for making yellow belt. And yes, I made it, too!
