ERT16 Day 15

Yesterday was a day of rest! The kids slept in until after 8 am (hooray for heavy window curtains), and watched tv until 10. A little shopping, laundry and a trip to the pool was enough to let us recharge and bring the day to a close.

On the way to breakfast today, we stopped by a 1/2-marathon that was being held right in front of the Crown Center (which is connected to the hotel). Fun atmosphere! We were at the finish line, so there was lots of music, food for the runners, etc. It was neat to watch the big clock display and talk to the kids about how long a marathon is and how long it takes to run it.

After that we ate breakfast at Succotash. While we waited to be seated, we went to a nearby park so the kids could play, and the restaurant texted us when they were ready for us... so big city 2016. Jasmine had her 1st restaurant-ordered pancakes (with blueberries, no less). Allergy approved... and delicious! The main attractions for the day were Big River (a musical at the Crown Center about Huck Finn) and the Mr. Potato Head exhibit (free!). The play was very good (the kids did great!) and we spent almost 2 hours at the exhibit. Kids loved it. Very interactive. Take-out for dinner from 3 different places to accommodate preferences and allergies, and back to the hotel.
