ERT16 Day 21

After breakfast, we started making our way to San Antonio. We made a quick lunch stop after crossing the Texas border, then we booked it to Enchanted Rock in order to make it there (and to the top) before sundown. It was amazing! We found the Summit Trail and walked / hiked / climbed up the rock ( 435 feet up) with the kids. At some points going up, the way seemed a little treacherous. I think this is the first time ever that Jerome (our resident risk taker) was more concerned about safety than I was... which made me a little nervous... but we realized that, if we stuck to baby steps, it wasn't as bad as it seemed. We survived. The kids loved the hike. And the view from the top was breathtaking!

We had a picnic dinner while we watched the sun set, and then we made our way back down (man, did it get dark quickly), and drove the rest of the way to Uncle Daryl's house in San Antonio. There by 11. Asleep by 1.
